Recipe: Focaccia Bread

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour

Servings: 6

Oven Temp: 400°F

Yield: One 9 in. Pie Tin

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Bread flour
  • 3/4 cup All purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Warm water (approximatley)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Yeast (1 PKG)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • Chopped Rosemary for garnish

Directions:

1. Place warm water in mixing bowl. (100-110°F)

2. Add Yeast, stir to combine. Add Flour, Sugar and Salt, combine to “Shaggy Mass”.

3. Adjust with more water if necessary. Turn out onto lightly floured surface, knead until smooth and elastic.

4. Place in lightly oiled bowl, cover dough with saran wrap or a damp cloth. Rest until doubled in size.

5. Prep the pie tin by brushing with one Tablespoon of oil on the bottom and sides. Place dough in tin evenly and cover. Rest for 10 minutes.

6. Brush olive oil on top of dough and indent with fingers to create a dimpled effect.

7. Top bake approximately 20-25 minutes or until an internal temperature of 190-210°F is reached.

8. Place on cooling rack and enjoy!

Note: Various chopped herbs can be added to the dough during the “Shaggy Mass” stage.
