A Proven Weight Loss Treatment

There are two pathways to the Optifast diet based on individuals specific needs. Before starting either of the pathways you will undergo an extensive medical workup including a review of your medication list, bloodwork and medical history by one of our endocrinologists to help individualize your plan to optimize success.

There are two steps; the first is online registration, the second is accessing the E-store.

What is Optifast

Optifast is a balanced liquid diet full of vitamins and nutrients that an individual would find from consuming foods. This allows the provider to control the caloric intake and allows for a caloric deficit necessary for successful weight loss.

  • Participants have lost on average 30 lbs at 26 weeks

What to Expect With the Optifast Diet

Full Meal Replacement Program (FMR):

FMR is a medically supervised rapid weight loss program designed for individuals who need to lose at least 40 pounds. The plans include low-calorie diet, close medical monitoring, counseling, and lifestyle education. This medically designed program uses the highest quality meal replacement products and is staged to ensure optimal nutrition, meal planning, and behavior changes. The goal is to give you insight into your eating and activity habits so you can permanently alter your lifestyle to achieve lasting weight control and better health.

  • Participant is actively engaging in FMR/PMR consuming allotted products agreed upon by patient and provider
  • This phase is accompanied by both group meetings and independent work to help the individual gain techniques for implementing optimal lifestyle modifications
  • Slowly tapering product use and incorporating self-prepared foods to allow the patient to develop their own foundation of health eating patterns
  • This phase is also accompanied by educational sessions that focus on barriers that you may face with increasing food intake and help with the way they approach food and eating
  • Continuing to increase your independence with food choices, occasional need for replacements with products if necessary
  • Meetings and support are always available to make sure you can continue the successful lifestyle and keep the weight off

Will I Gain the Weight Back After Stopping the Diet?

While actively participating in the liquid diet you will be given coaching focusing on behavioral patterns and food centricity to help keep the weight off when transitioning back to food. Our Comprehensive behavioral series, LES, is an educational program tailored to modify unhealthy habits & unhealthy relationships with food. This will provide you with the tools to incorporate healthy habits permanently into your lifestyle. We provide material during your visit, as well as group and/ or in person education sessions.
